Paris Dining Recommendations

So me and Mrs Smart are going to Paris at end of March with my folks as a "Happy 80th Bday Dad" trip

He's in amazing shape and health and can walk all over the city without needing to stop for breaks so it will be fun since he can "keep up"!

One of the nights for dinner I am taking us out somewhere nice, and while I have some ideas in mind by reading Internet recommendations of Paris dining, I was wondering if others here had their own recommendations.

Preferably something that is seafood intensive menu, BUT also has beef options (for me as I hate seafood)

Price not really an issue but nothing astronomical

btw, any personal opinions of Le Boeuf Sur La Toit off the Champs D'Elyses (sic)

if I wanted a meal that included beef and seafood in Paris, I'd hit a brassarie, myself. I like Balzar, but over the years it has become a little more touristy. the brassarie flo group has a number of good ones

Le Duc is famous for seafood.

Le Dome is also well-known for it, although a bit cliched and touristy.

The grand brasseries are nice and generally have good seafood along with many other options -- one that's sometimes overlooked is the Brasserie Mollard with its worn Art Nouveau decor.

The Terminus Nord is another excellent brasserie near the Gare du Nord.

Bofinger is quite famous although perhaps overrated.

The Balzar is nice and good value.

Le Boeuf sur le Toit is one of the better brasseries.

Paris fashionistas, best couscous and the finest assortment of baklavas, go to Chez Omar!! You may have to wait in line though. One of the best meals I had in Paris. Then you can head off to L'Etoile next door to the Arc d' Triomphe!

Le Boeuf Sur La Toit is a nice choice. Place feels really great and historic and wait staff is very bistrot traditional and engaging.

My favorite place in Paris was Fontaine de Mars. It's a small place in the 7th just a few blocks from L'arc. It was very small but I believe they have expanded slightly. They make an oeufs en meurette that I would fly back just to eat. And a cassoulet that is so large you get served twice. The service was great and it was not too expensive. There are a few other paris threads around where I put some other picks just after my trip, but this is the one that sticks in my mind.

thanks for the rec's....the wife and I aren't foodies so if it were just the 2 of us we would just go wherever the day takes us, but we want to plan a nice dinner each nite for us and my folks

Le Bouef sur la Toit is def on the to-eat list, as is Chez Omar from what I can glean

I'll take a look at the other mentions on the net and see what's what

Bofinger was originally an option but I cant eat at a place that sounds like an Eddie Murphy movie, even tho a good one

Terminus Nord is def one I'll check out since we're not going to be too far from GduNord

If you're not going to be far from GdN you should check out the cat restaurant sometime. It was my favorite restaurant in Paris.

I always enjoy Brasserie Balzar, although there are many great brasseries in Paris.
