Well, just in general ties are such a subjective and personal thing, quality almost takes a back seat to aesthetics. In my experience, there's not really that much of a continuum in the quality of ties, you're either getting a cheap chinese one with the plastic-like interlining, or a good italian one with the wool interlining. Beyond that, everything else like the look, the thickness of the wool, the width, etc. are personal preferences.

I don't think it's illegal for them to be selling it. Probably the supplier is breaking their contract with LV by selling over-runs to a 3rd party, but it's not counterfeit or stolen for LV, so they can't do anything to Century 21 over it. I'm not that surprised either, are we really expected to believe they just destroy all their unsold merchandise? As an aside, does anyone know who makes LV's ties for them? Is it another company in the LVMH group?
