Most versatile boot available in cordovan???

Ok.

So I saw this picture of worn cordovan boots and fell in love. I'm now infatuated with the idea of getting a cordovan boot that I could wear all the time for any setting and with anything. I want to watch it evolve and keep it for years to come. Unfortunately, I don't know of a single boot that meets my criteria. Which is:

-Shell Cordovan
-Can be worn with non-skinny jeans (samurai 5000 kinda jeans)
-Can be worn with trousers and maybe a sport jacket (or even maybe a suit in the GQ sense)
-Rubber sole so I won't bust my ass in the rain
-Goodyear welted
-Not a wholecut, captoe or a full brogue

Is there anything?

I have the AF-53's and they are very versatile, I highly recommend them.

Ron Rider's boots are great, but aren't Goodyear welted. I'm not sure if that's a disadvantage. The Alden boots are great too, but aren't entirely rubber soled. They have a lugged topy stitched to the bottoms. It covers 2/3 of your sole, the part that usually touches the ground. Not a problem unless you plan to ride a bicycle and don't want the pedals to eat up the leather parts of your soles.

This is the pair I recently ordered from Leather Soul Hawaii that seems to meet your criteria:

there are a few pairs that may meet your criteria, but after you buy your first pair of shell you will likely want another. don't limit yourself to just one boot. Pick the one you will wear most often (like a casual boot to wear with jeans). Then if you feel the need, get a pair in a sleeker last to wear with a suit. Boots can look good with suits from what I've seen, but not with rubber soles IMO.

I already knew about those boots. Unfortunately, I don't want a wholecut (maybe I should have said plain toe?) because the creases would suck and they look a little boring to me. I think everything suggested falls under that category.

cordo indy? you couldnt wear a suit with it though..

Just to be clear, if by whole cut you mean all plain toes (whole cut means the whole shoe is made of one skin, not just the toe), than you don't want a plain toe, cap-toe or brogue? I assume that excludes wingtips? Not much left, except for the Indy, but that's way too casual for suits, and I'd say for trousers and sports coats too, though some may disagree. In a word, not really, but are you looking for something like this, ordered with a rubber sole? http://www.leathersoulhawaii.com/200...van-indy-boot/

No, wingtips are fine just as long as it's not punched within an ounce of it's life. I should maybe remove the full brogue since I'm open to exceptions. An austerity wingtip would be sick though.

I was thinking about scraping the versatility idea and getting the Indy's whenever they are available, but I already have some red wings that serve the same purpose and the indy's look a little dainty for workboots and too bulky for anything else. Maybe if I saw a picture of them how I would actually wear them (Laced loosely in every other hole) and not so tightly laced I might change my mine.

Anyways, Why don't we try to make another StyleForum X Leather Soul cordovan boot?

If so, can you elaborate?

Those look pretty nice, but by cordovan which it's marketing speak for horsehide (or whatever else). They're not shell cordovan like the previously mentioned Aldens.
