Queen Size Wool Blankets

Thread Starter
Just wanted the forum's opinion on getting a nice queen size wool blanket. I'm looking for something high-quality as well as thick and warm. Can anyone recommend anything good?

Here's some stuff I've seen on the web:

I have a Pendleton and love it. Very warm, quality construction.

Filson does a mackinaw wool blanket which I have fondled. Very thick, heavy, tough and warm. A bit scratchy, though.

These are great and a little nicer than the new Pendelton blankets I have.

I love wool blankets. Way better than down imo. The one I have is an old RL merino wool, thrifted for $1.50 eight years ago. It was new at the time and not at all scratchy. To care for it, I just stick it in the washer w/ some shampoo once a year or so. I'd recommend a merino wool one in a weave that's fairly air permeable. When it gets really cold, I just throw a less permeable cotton one on top.

They're meant more for keeping warm in a hunting stand than they are for keeping warm in bed.

My thoughts exactly!!!! Can't go wrong with a Hudson's Bay blanket.
