Some cool performances. http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/a...ow-cover_N.htm

Ehrlich foresees an uplifting tone but also interludes of emotional resonance, including a Bo Diddley tribute with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, John Mayer and Keith Urban capping the "In Memoriam" segment. A medley by Alison Krauss and Robert Plant tops a stout country playlist. Kenny Chesney is doing Better as a Memory. Carrie Underwood sings Last Name, and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles takes on Stay. Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus join voices. Radiohead will be joined on stage by an enormous throng. Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx and Smokey Robinson are teaming for a Four Tops tribute with the last surviving original member, Duke Fakir. Rappers are teeming, period. The Jonas Brothers are paired with Stevie Wonder. Paul McCartney, backed by Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on drums, will dust off I Saw Her Standing There. Coldplay, Kid Rock, Neil Diamond and a very pregnant M.I.A. take turns in the spotlight. Adele will deliver Chasing Pavements. Rihanna's high-tech rendezvous with Chris Brown showcases Live Your Life and recasts Disturbia as a rock anthem. And Katy Perry's appearance involves fruit. T.I. enlists Justin Timberlake for Dead and Gone, the rapper's final performance before heading to prison in March to serve a one-year weapons sentence. West and Estelle link up for American Boy. And Lil Wayne will be joined by Robin Thicke, Allen Toussaint and Terence Blanchard on the defiant, Katrina-themed Tie My Hands, which segues into a second-line coda with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

Allen Toussaint and the Dirty Dozen sound great - but I can't say I'd care about the rest.

I don't think Quincy Jones knew who was even there judging from what he said to Seacrest. I just realized how much U2 has fucking sucked for the past 7-8 years.

Guarini is the ultimate D-list celebrity, he works for the TV Guide channel. I can't watch an Al Green performance without smiling, what a vibrant personality. He's still got the wail.
