Sympathy card etiquette

Thread Starter
A guy at work's wife lost her baby after a 6 month pregnancy.

I am the supervisor at work.

I got him a sympathy card.

Should I get everybody at work to sign it or is that too much?

Thoughts?

I would just get him a simple card and write something like "Our thoughts are with you". Credit it to everybody (i.e. "from all of us (at ...)", but only sign it yourself (or don't sign it at all).

I agree. Also with nordicstyle. Do not get everyone to sign, for the love of god. I cant stretch that enough. This is a delicate matter and all that is needed is a simple card and a note of sympathy and perhaps to let him know, that you are there, should he need to talk. Not to get everyone involved. Other that that, take the que from the person. He may want to talk about it, he may not.
