I have seen many different prices for what seems to be ordinary silk knots. I have seen them for as low as $2 and up to $30 each. Is there actualy any difference quality or is it just price inflation because they are from a more prestigious brand.

My experience, yes and no. I find the silk to basically be the same but the construction different. Charvet silk knots have a thicker head and a longer attaching piece of silk than the cheaper brands. The Charvet is also not woven as tight. The cheaper ones are fine quality wise (some say they break, I've never experienced that) but are very tight. I think there is very little to no difference between the cheap ones and the mid ones (Brooks, JPress, all the dept. stores) so I would either go as cheap as possible or go Charvet.

I got some for a dollar and they seemed to stretch out a little bit. When I tried to tighten them by loosening the knot, the thread broke.

Does anyone besides Thomas Pink make the silk knots where one and is a ball and the other side is woven into a flower, I saw them in their store and they looked pretty nice.

Thomas Pink don't make anything - they are retailers.
I assume you mean something like the ones Elizabeth Parker (they supply many retailers) do :-
