Wolverine's Heritage Line... - Page 59

Check wolverine's 1000 mile site; they have stockists listed, and I THINK the only Canadian retailer is in Toronto. They sell them pretty expensive though; 1000 Mile Boots were over $400 if my memory serves me right.

The phone number in my sig is your friend.

Anyone have comparison photos of the rust and the brown? Can't decide...revolve only carries brown, but I don't want to lay down $400 for the rust at the local store.

Had to wait till today to get my Montagues. Couple of impressions. 1. I shopped all over for a "Chelsea" style boot and these were by far the most substantial, meaning they are solidly built, sturdy construction, great look and an OK price. 2. I put a light coating of sno seal and the color didn't change that much http://www.flickr.com/photos/57465831@N03/5290292175/ 3. I was pretty upset at little quality control issues that shouldn't be there on $250 boots. Here is a nail that is sticking out, I'll hammer it down a bit, but cobbling shouldn't be required on a new pair of boots: http://www.flickr.com/photos/57465831@N03/5290292695/ Here is a seam that is flapping in the wind, should I put a dab of glue? http://www.flickr.com/photos/57465831@N03/5290293205/

Try them on at Due West on queen, or the place next to them, they got some.

And buy off gravitypope (if they got a sale), Revolve Clothing (what I did). Revolve usually had the best price when combined with a coupon code, or 1st time buyer 30% off.

Just heard back from horween about their predator leather found on the montague 1000 mile boot and thought I would share it with you all:

"Predator is a waxed and tumbled full grain leather. The wax used on the leather is burnishable and will wear very well over time. This is a chrome tanned leather with a heavy vegetable retannage."

Is there any problem with adding a rubber sole onto the 1000 k's?

They really felt sturdy to you? I checked out the Montague (in black) at a local Neiman Marcus and the rubber sole made the shoe feel...incredible cheap. Compared to the 1000 Mile, it seemed very floppy and not very sturdy at all. It didn't seem like there was any leather at all in any part of the outsole, just rubber (despite the faux-leather parts).

Possible that the Montague in brown is constructed differently?

I was at Neiman the other day checking out the 1000 Mile and they had the Addison too and they felt really cheap. I was susprised, because I had high hopes. They're way too lightweight, I have oxfords that weigh about the same. The leather wasn't that great either.

Hi, I have just moved to Montreal and I'm looking for a nice pair of winter boots. Anyone know where I can have a look at the Wolverine's Heritage line or Redwing or similar nice boots? I have tried looking around but can only find crappy fugly boots! Cheers :=) Edit: It's ok. I found Eighty Six and bought myself a pair of Wolverine Ascot, brown. Really nice :=)

I picked up the timberland boot co. And the shoe folds in half. The varvatos were more fashion than function (I own a few pairs, that I love). And everything else I looked at didn't have a stacked heal or the were completely rubbersoled. I will say the 1000 original is more sturdy. But I was looking for a rubber sole and a Chelsea slip on boot

So I was talking to a friend, who works for a company that is owned by wolverine, about my boots with the nail sticking out. He asked for the item number from the shoe and got intouch with wolverine and had a new pair for me 4 days later. I was blown away. They took the "no" out of customer no-service. That is how you build brand loyalty! I wish the black 1000 mile boots above were 11!
