Women definitely appreciate it far more when a man goes through the effort of making an elaborate
meal with some nice touches like candles and the like. It shows you were thinking about them and want them to feel special. Of course if you can't cook you can always buy something and fake your way through it.

On a separate not there should be a rough equivalent to Valentine's Day for men. You could call it something like Oral Pleasure Day or Threesome Day.

I think they appreciate that on a random Tuesday, but not for Valentine's Day.

Avoid dining out on Valentine's Day like it was the plague. Cook at home, splurge on a nice wine, play some game that ends up with you both naked and with oil involved. Photograph and discuss later.
