Golf Shirt

I need a few polo (golf shirts) for this summer. I like the slim fit of RL but I really don't like that horse logo. Does anyone know of other brands that make slim fitting golf shirts?

Discotu seems to have some very nice Borrellis that might add some variety to your usual pique shirts. http://www.virtualclotheshorse.com JCrew also has trim fit polo shirts for much cheaper than RL. No experience with any of these.

Take a look at Bobby Jones. I recently picked one up that I quite like.

I'm pretty sure that golf shirts and polo shirts are different. Polo shirts have shorter sleeves and look much better when not actually golfing.

not that i would claim to be an expert by any means, but Antigua, which is a golf company, classifies there golf shirt as the classic polo. Classic polo

Bobby Jones online A bit pricier than Antigua. The one I have, and the ones I've seen, are pretty similar to a traditional polo. You see a lot of guys wearing them way too big, of course. The one I have isn't billowy, though. For cheaper options without logo try GAP, which makes a good polo. Also JCrew has some cool logo options with theirs this season. You can pick a lobster, etc., so it's not JCrew specific.

I found this one from Bobby Jones particularly agreeable (liked the spread collar and the navy/white colors) but heavens, I never knew Bobby Jones was so expensive. What's the story of this label? A new hire turned up at the office the other day wearing a casual Bobby Jones shirt with a pair of red-tinted glasses. Yuck.

Bobby Jones are some of the nicest golf shirts made. Most of their collection is made in Italy.

i love the BJ shirts, but at a cheap side $135 they are pricey....but the cotton/silk combos are nice, they do fit very narrow though

Jeff Rose makes slimmer fitting shirts. He used to be the designer at Bobby Jones. The shirts are quality italian cotton, they are a little on the delicate side. There are a few for sale on STP at a very reduced price. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/xq....uct.htm

I just received a couple of Jeff Rose trousers from STP. They're very nice.

I personally prefer Jeff Rose to Bobby Jones. I love Bobby personally -- one of my true idols -- and I own some of his shirts. But Jeff Rose was the styling genius and when he left, I think the design quality dropped off. Jeff Rose's own label uses just as good of cotton, very unique MOP buttons, and does fit slightly more modernly. Neither label is the kind of shirt you'd wear untucked with chinos or jeans. They are so lux that I think you'd have to pair them with very nice pants and shoes to wear them properly. If that is what you are looking for, Jeff Rose is hard to beat. STP mismarked the retail price on the ones that they are selling. If you a size medium, I'd get a few from STP. I got the lavender stripe one and it's gorgeous.

I don't know when or how it started, but Bobby Jones is owned by Hickey-Freeman. I'm not going to argue that the clothes are anything but expensive, but the polo shirts tend to be made from mercerized cotton lisle, and you'll have to search a while to find that for cheap.

In what way did STP mismark the retail price? In the buyer's favor? I'm going to order a couple.
