Thanks for checking. I wrote an email to them and will let you know what, if anything, happens.

I had something similar happen to me during the same day after xmas sale. Since I was already out shopping I decided to swing by the local BB instead of ordering online. I was only interested in BF items. I live in the Kansas City area and the only BB I know of (on the plaza) doesn't carry BF. I spoke with the manager and she assured me they could order the items I wanted and they would call me once they got in. The shirts and tie never came. I grew tired of calling the store so i finally had AMEX reverse the charges. Lesson learned, order online More importantly I should have ordered online on the night of the 25th.

This thread pidals.

So you ordered shoes at or below their cost. They didn't have any more, and declined to ship them to you at a loss if/when they get them back in, and you were "screwed." Ha.

But Brooks is the one who set the price and accepted the order. If more are on the way, why shouldn't Brooks honor the transaction?

Did one of the brothers hold you down while the other one had its evil ways with you?

It's a stretch to say the OP was screwed, but I can see the disappointment in having customer service fail, yet again. If customer service said straight off the bat we can't do this or that, that's fine. But if you're given some assurance of receiving something (whether to the loss of the other party or whatever), it certainly sucks to hear otherwise, and this does not reflect positively on BB.

Exactly: to hear otherwise. In this case, I heard nothing - they just quietly cancelled the order hoping...what, that I wouldn't notice?

was there any sort of "subject to availability" condition on the sale price?

Search is your friend. Seek out Jose's posts on the used RLPL shoes he tried to return.

They could, as a gesture of good will. But it was a clearance. No one is obligated to honor a clearance price on new stock, and clearance prices are always "subject to availability."

I experienced something similar Christmas 2007, and the items were never sent. This past Christmas I decided to get an SA to get the goods for me from another store, I had them within a week.
