Hermes UES NY - Page 2

I think a scarf requires a lot more material. And I think the silk is a higher quality than the tie silk.

"Peter Elliot" is Elliot Rabin, a "colorful" Charlestonian. He's been an UES institution since the early 80's. Both the Hermes ties and scarves are produced by Ateliers AS in Lyon.  Hermes owns 75% or so of them. They also produce for Lacroix and Vivienne Westwood, and Cartier.

Before you pull the trigger on Hermes, consider buying from their manufacturers, sometimes at half the price. Notably Seraphin's leathers. Belvest does the suits, last I heard.

The most that i like about hermès are their belts. A good service is also very important for me. I had some bad experiences, but usually the employees in "better" shops know how to treat their customers. I had great experiences with Prada in Italy and Helmut Lang in Austria (vienna) where you almost felt like you are home - it was an awesome shopping experience.
