This was an awesome movie. Liam Neeson beating the **** out of everybody in Paris. I recommend it.

Yeah, I didn't realize this until I searched for this and a bunch of trackers had "Taken.2008." Didn't realize that. I don't think I've seen Irreversible.

Oh, and because a film snob will surely post in here about how Taken is garbage, please consider this portion of a review on RT. "It's the action that is key. Neeson's character doesn't just open up a can of whup-ass on the kidnappers. He opens up a whole bucket of whup-ass."

I noticed when I was in the US that this movie was advertised as coming soon. It was released in Australia, and no doubt many other countries in early-mid 2008, and is now on sale on DVD here. I don't understand why it wasn't released in the US at the same time. It's a great action movie.

Note: 'great action movie', not 'great movie'.

Saw this the other day. Great for an action film which would've been made worse if someone like Bruce Willis was cast instead of Liam Neeson. I found that there wasn't enough violence and if I had the editor's gloves on I'd cut out that scene with Liam Neeson crawling under the bed where his daugher was abducted. Other than that, a solid effort with Luc Besson written all over it.

I, too, saw it online first before seeing it again in theaters here in CR. Couldn't believe it got a January release considering how relatively well-received it was by critics and people on IMDB.

I was a huge Luc Besson fan and it was a pleasure to see him put something out that wasn't overly cheesy or included over-the-top action sequences. The storyline had a great Point A to Point B delivery with minimal surprises. I couldn't help but feel it was done in a tight budget but that did little to impair my enjoyment of it.

Overall, I thought it was one of the better action films I'd seen in some time. Liam's character was an excellent mix of brutality and likability, something I've never seen him do before.

Based on the previews, I'm hoping for "Jason Bourne + 30 years + a kid."
