The text below the photos suggests it started as a "barn project," which may be why the extended garage features a tractor at one end.

Very interesting set up and interesting house. I'd like to see more photos of the interior in addition to the mandatory (given the hosting website) photos of the copper (which I like).

That's awesome. I really loved reading about this life and interaction with all those great architects.

Dulwich Art gallery, whilst not residential, well, not unless you're a painting that is. Designed by Sir John Soane RA. This building set the example for all future art gallaries. Simple interlocking rooms, overhead skylights to bathe the art in natural light. Soane also turned his home in London into a architectural laboratory. It's now a museum dedicated too his foresight and genius, well worth a visit for any budding architect or architectural groupie. Highly recommended.

Of course I have to post the obligatory airport porn however it is truly my favorite building on earth. Unfortunately Photobucket is acting up so I can't use some of my own shots that I believe capture the life of the building. It may be more because of the memories of good times I've had here but I find the physical structure to be architecturally notable.

Personally, I would love to live in a pale yellow or purple house.

While I do like this house, you could put almost any kind of modernist box and it would look pretty damn good just because the setting is so beautiful.

I very much like Horta's work, thanks for posting. Gaudi's work not so much, but nethertheless, he was interesting. Gaudi also died in poverty if I remember correctly.
