I still think you're a douchebag. However, I meant what's said above.

has anybody visited the de Young museum by H&dM? I thought it was meh.

I like it when I walk/run/drive by it. Functionally, however, it seems like they paid a lot of money for not much usable gallery space, confusingly laid out. The observation deck on the top floor of the tower is cool, though.

it seems like the building was f-ed by SF building code stuff. Same with the rest of SF.

I really like some parts the de Young. The observation deck is great. The fern court is neat. The proportions of the modern galleries with the overhead skylights are very good. The smaller galleries with the indigenous arts were pretty meh, and the major lobby area is kind of lifeless, but overall I think it was solid, and certainly articulated pretty well with the materials. I could probably go for some more transparency around the upper level galleries, but that probably sounds much easier than it is.

Is it turning green yet?

I hate how the stairs are too big to walk down without taking two steps on each.

It's not green yet, SH.

I did like the observation deck and the fern court.

Is it still being erected or is it fully erect?

I think I may agree with StephenHero that this thread was better when only he posted in it. smile.gif
