Dwell frequently throws people in their photos. There was a particularly creepy one maybe 6 months ago with a little girl standing on a stairwell wearing some sort of fuzzy frog monster mask.

Thanks for that link. To me it's not entirely clear if the site is a critique of revisionist modernism in domestic architecture. The name says "yes," but the commments and photos say "sometimes."

I couldn't find the mask shot, but the people in the shots do complicate the reading of the architecture- as they always do.

This conversation is a bit too cerebral for my tastes. If anyone needs me, I'll be translating Jean Cocteau scripts into Latin.

The original article was from "Dwell", but the bizarre frog-mask photo was reproduced on the "Unhappy Hipsters" website. I enjoy reading the latter, as it's not only amusing, but also packs architecture shots from a number of different sources into one place).

This long corridor is accessed via a ramp, taking visitors up into the heart of the pavilion, their views and sense of the surroundings strictly mediated. The chief sources of light are 91 windows, one for each victim, each accompanied by a solitary bulb and a printed piece of silk that sets out the accusation, confession and fate of those brought before the court. It's a sombre space, kept barely above the brisk temperature on the shore outside, and smelling strongly of wood and wood treatment.

Sounds like they nailed the morose Scandinavian aesthetic. I'd love to see this but probably never will.
