Bargain hunting in New York

Dear friends, I will be in New York for a holiday in June. Any recommendations for bargain clothes there? I have read about Filene's Basement and Century 21, any opinions on those? Addresses of the stores would also be appreciated. Thank you. Regards, JiaXian Singapore

Century 21 is across the street (East) from Ground Zero. Ground Zero is listed at the MTA lower Manhattan subway map online (google mta). Go early. The store opens around 7 A.M. Also try Loheman's on 7th. Avenue at 17th. Street (not as good as Century 21 IMO)

The Filene's Basement at 14th St/University Pl is decent as well.

A few days before you come, go to www.NYMetro.com. Click on Shopping & Fashion and scroll down to Sales Listings (Daily) on the pull down menu. They list the sample sales and many of the big sales that may be going on when you're here. http://www.nymetro.com/shopping/articles/sb/index.htm

Thanks for the reply guys. Do these places sell women's clothing as well? I'm travelling with a lady who obviously will want (more than) her share of clothes. :-) Thank you.

If you are really interested in shopping, go to Woodbury Commons. Buses leave from the Port Authority, and it is a great outlet mall.
