I concede, I don't have much of a feel for this suit. But, to defend the "artist's intent," the proportions of the coat were fashionable (in the most transitory and least approbative sense of the word) a year or two ago. The high two-button, fingertip length coat and continental pocket, plain front pants were for a few weeks the most exciting idea in tailored clothing. Most of the versions that appeared in US stores were mainstreamed. This, however, is the fully realized deal. Don't apply the standards of classic tailoring to a fashion piece. It has its own internal logic.
