sweaters- pull marins? / nautical striped t-shirts

Thread Starter
Recently I've been inspired by a movie (love songs) to wear a nautical striped sweater (i believe it's called a pull marin) or a striped t-shirt akin to the ones French sailors wear.

Do you guys have any recommendations as to good sources of these types of garments? Thanks

I asked this question in MC a ways back. As Jet said, APC is one, Ralph Lauren is another, Jpeterman might do some, and Saint James is all about that style.

Saint James makes the best ones as far as I'm concerned. All made in France and really tight and warm. When you know fishermen wear them on the sea, it's a good sign.

Thanks man, binic is ideal. Some were made with acrylic which is wack but this wasn't. Where's shit made?

I have the Binic II model from Saint James, which doesn't fit very slim, in the traditional way these sweaters are worn. I usually wear a ton of shit under it. I can post a fit picture later this afternoon. I think they have slimmer models too, although I'm sure they produce them more for the tourists who visit Brittany...

Just noticed that Oi Polloi carries the Saint James Binic II model, if anyone wants that.

Can anyone else comment on the fit of Saint James Binic II? I'm fairly diminuitive (usually XS to S), and I'm afraid I might drown in their smalls if they are cut for salty sailors like this:

If you want to order from somewhere in NA, Lark has a pretty good selection.
