Default Best Lat workout

What do you guys think are the best lat exercises? I am looking to build a little more muscle and tone but not to develop a massively wide back. Any suggestions, tips, workout tweaks? I thank you in advance for your input

Don't lift heavy weights I hear if you do that you might wake up the next morning and be HUGE like the hulk.

in my opinion, pullups or lat pulldowns. also rows are a great exercise. there are many variations of rows so you will be able to work the muscles a different way to keep the workout fresh.

Swimming is great for the latissimus dorsi. Front crawl and breastsroke combo for about 45 minutes daily.

what smw236 meant (sarcasticly, I might add) is that no one gets ARNOLD HUUUGE by accident. It takes years and years (like, 10+) of hard training. So as a beginner, you are better off trashing that concern and just work your butt off in the gym no matter what.

But yeah, aren't there like 2 threads in this very same subject started in the last 2 weeks?

one of the things that I like about SF is that it is always a healthy, but humbling, experience that is good for ALL of us. For example, no matter what the topic, there is almost always guaranteed to be a poster who knows more, has more, or IS more in just about every way... - rach2jlc

Well, not that I could find. There are threads on traps, gluteous and AF bodies but not specifically for lats. I ran a search.
Apologies if I missed something and please believe me I search and would have continued a pre-existing thread on this topic if I had found one.

Regards,

JLC

You got to read the other posts here.
For wide back, do latpulldowns and pullups.
For thick back, do rows like T bar, bent rows, pulley row.
You have to know which exercise target upper, mid or lower back.
Deadlifts are pretty good overall too.

^ True. Note to self: posting on internet forum before the coffee kicks in is not a good idea.

Back on topic then...

Dude,

Obviously you need to go to your nearest pharmicist, a branch of which is set up by the musclehead in your gym for your convenience. After sampling their products, it wont take 10 years of hard training. Hell, you dont even need hard training.

touche
The title of that thread was rather misleading to me. I thought it would be about a tattoo or some sort of fringe medical procedure so I didn't bother reading it.

You should use your words with more care and not besmirch a fine man's efforts and reputations with your reckless allegations. You may even find yourself a subject of a rightful lawsuit.
