Imagine:
A fire has started in your building and you have five minutes to evacuate. What 3 to five items of clothing in your closet ( perhaps your most valuable ) would you take and why? |

I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans: the most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity - all I hope for in my clothes. -- Yves Saint Laurent

Somebody is bound to say it, so it might as well be me.
Clothes can be replaced, life can't. My ass would be out of the house so fast.... ![]() |

suck it SoCal your WAYT posts are inspiration, showing Jet up at every turn. Your Jil/Raf outfits are divine creation, each look a lesson-to-learn Without your spending, where would this forum be? Another fashion wasteland, doomed to mediocrity. From Recent Purchases to Men's Shoes, I follow your posts like the 11 o'clock news

Hard call. Tempting to make it a list of expensive stuff, but I tried instead to list the stuff I like best/means the most to me.
World's best blazer, by Oxxford RLPL Mackay Pink knit tie from Charvet Grandfather's gray sportcoat Pair of inexpensive suede chelseas I got from Yoox or maybe an H&K shirt |

THE PURGE
Doc's enormous closet clearout -- many makers, many sizes, all awesome. NEW: PART 3: The classic Brigg briefcase PART 2: Sportcoats and suits and other goodies | PART 1: Shirts, trou, shoes, more Salvation doesn't lie within four walls. I'm too serious to be a dilettante and too much a dabbler to be a professional. Even the most miserable life is better than a sheltered existence in an organized society where everything is calculated and perfected. By 1965 there'll be total depravity. How squalid everything will be.

I'd grab my watch boxes for which I'm seriously under insured. Let the rags go up!

There are any number of pieces of luggage in my closet, wouldn't it be just as fast to chuck more things in a bag and run?

NWT Canali suit 44L, NWT Hickey-Freeman trench 44R (Made in England) "People see me, and they see the suit, and they go: 'You're not fooling anyone', they know I'm rock and roll through and through. But you know that old thing, "live fast, die young?" Not my way. Live fast, sure, live too bloody fast sometimes, but die young? Die old. That's the way- not orthodox, I don't live by "the rules" you know."
