Why not look at some army surplus combat boots (they have insulated varieties), if you're just using these as occasional snow boots?

I agree. They wouldn't like too much wet/salt, and you'd have to clean them frequently.

I know the chances are slim but...

2 days ago I saw an awsome cardigan piece on the BS forum, Streetwear. Now its disappeared...I have no idea where it went. It was about 45$ and from Korea. Search results turn up nothing. If you have seen it please tell me! Even if its sold so I can stop looking haha...

I'm also digging seriously on the Timberland 'Earthkeepers', which are waterproof, substantial all-rubber sole (their tan rubber work boot soles get too hard in the snow).

PS - am liking those Treetorns, and I can say with certainty that the Docs do okay in the snow, but are not a true snow boot. A tad slippery for snow-on-pavement situations. Other than that, A++

Ah! I've considered buying those Timberlands before too, but i don't have any experience with the brand... pretty spiffy looking though, and seem functional to boot. :P

I've seen another site that had multiple angle pictures of them and I didn't see the logo.

PS - may have to reverse my 'waterproof' statement. Timb. had that statement on the website this summer, but now it seems to not be there. Oh well. Nothing some mink oil won't cure.

I like the earthkeepers, but dunno where they are made? I think Dominican Republic has a plant, and looks like also soles are shipped from Malaysia to Timberland’s factory in China.
