Default Absurd garments for the post-modern dandy.

I would like the following:

A 3/4 length velvet coat with six arms. Sort of a Mortal Kombat/Dr. Who hybrid, preferably in a citrus color (yellow/green/orange). "The Goro."

A jacket with constructed sleeves that begin to billow out at a sharp angle near the elbow, providing unmoving cuffs approximately one foot in diameter.

A suit jacket in a conservative fabric that is lined entirely in a collage of hardcore pornography.

A hooded sweatshirt that integrates elements of the "astronaut's helmet" look.

And you?

I've actually toyed with the idea of getting a suit jacket lined in ecclesiastical fabric at some point, and I'm a tad envious of that Sulka robe mentioned (I think by Vintage Gent) that displays images from The Garden of Earthly Delights, so the pornographic jacket you suggest doesn't sound completely out of bounds to me. I wouldn't wear it, but maybe I'd wear one with artistic nude photographs on the lining.

As a downtown nighttime jacket, of course.

I would like a tradly button-down-collar shirt made of repp stripe necktie silk. I'm thinking burgundy and navy blue wide stripes, thin gold stripe. Stripes would be cut on the bias, obviously. Gold buttons, maybe.

This would look superb with a slim-cut peak lapel shantung silk cream colored one-button blazer. Perhaps you could wear a heavy woolen pocket square in nailhead for added irreverence.

I would also enjoy a hooded sweatshirt with a second head on the shoulder with its own functional hood. DeformiTees.

I would also like high-quality hosiery in the same vein as my "hardcore pornography lined suit." Call it Pimpin' Hosiery and market to perverts.

I'll admit I've been wanting these for a while:

I'll probably pull the trigger on them soon if I don't get them for Christmas, so make sure to leave a couple of pairs for me, chums.

That's fantastic.

I want those, the pornography-lined jacket (the most debasing, degrading stuff possible), the cufflinks that hold pills that have been posted here previously, pants with some sort of irreverent portrait at the fly, and shoes with a lot of gratuitous profanity on the soles.

  1. Initial suit cloth that reads "blonde brunette redhead"
  2. miniature ipod nano cufflinks set in platinum.
  3. A vicuna hoodie and sweats with the intarsia of an actual vicuna in street gear rapping on the chest of the hoodie.
  4. An Austin Powers-like Nehru jacket
  5. An exclusive range of my own shirt collection fabric made of blue and pink combinations
  6. A collection of suede shoes and boots with images of famous people punched on the toe cap.

As opposed to the other stuff you're proposing, this is entirely practicable. I like outrageous/unusual linings, although Paul Smith and others have made them far more common now.

Actually this is far less crazy than I think this thread is meant to be.

Many years back I bought my mother a pair of earrings that were tiny sterling silver Nordstrom credit cards. Sadly they were taken in a burglary.

Let's make it happen, friend.

I also like the idea of bizarre punched toeboxes -- baphomet sigils would be a nice touch.
