SF - Indigo Transferring to [New] White Shoes

Hey, I'm new to the whole fashion, looking good, thing. So, as such, I've noticed that with new jeans comes the transferring of indigo to white shoes. Specifically, new white shoes. I bought a couple of pairs of pre-washed Sevens and Gap's 1969 jeans. Both of these are transferring a good amount of indigo to the shoes... and a fair amount I'm unable to get off with cleaning solution. I'm continually washing them to try to get them to stop. Hopefully they'll stop after a few more times through the wash.

Now, though, comes the tricky part. I'm waiting for a new pair of raw denim APC New Standards to come in from Denimbar. Since they're raw denim, I'm planning on them bleeding onto the shoes like nothing else.

What is the best way to protect shoes from the indigo? I suppose that it's alright if some gets on, as long as there's some way to keep it from being permanent.

Its kind of odd, but very few of my jeans bleed on onto my shoes. Its pretty suprising that some 7s and Gap 1969s would.

Anyway, I heard from somewhere that an eraser gets rid of the stains but you may want to wait for someone more sure of it before u try :P

Yeah, I've been using both an eraser and a cleaning solution that they sell at Famous Footwear (and other shoe stores) and neither can fully get rid of the indigo. It doesn't matter a ton because the stains are only where the jeans cover, but it's still a nusance.

I think I might just have to stick them in the washer with warm water, instead of cold, and hope that it gets rid of enough indigo.

Biosore, a warm wash may fix your problem, but IMO getting your white shoes blue is part of the process of wearing denim. It's something you can't really avoid. I have come to like the look of white shoes with blue rims.

Yeah, I got a new pair of white/blue Tigers and they were blue rimmed and the toes were blue from crossing my legs in under a week. I tried cleaning them a bit with a mr. clean magic eraser, it helped a bit but there's not much you can do.

^^^Thass rite. Indigo bleed on shoes are like hickeys, blue badges of courage. Love it.

HAHAHAHAH Thats brilliant, badges of courage, I love it.

I find that my APCs don't really bleed at all... Or maybe its because I've already established all my badges of courage and have no new canvas.

If its leather, try using the Mr.Clean magic eraser on it; its done wonders for bleed and scuffs on my leather sneakers.

blasphamy!!! Really White shoes look fresh, clean and classic. I can't understand the dirty=better mentality. Dirty shoes are bummy, i clean ALL my sneackers with a tooth brush and tooth paste (i keeps it old school) until they lose that nasty blue rim.

I'm of the school that thinks kicks look better a little busted up. Depends on your style.
