love the fit through the body, just shorten the sleeves and a slightly shorter cuff.

What sleeve width did you decide on, normal or narrow?
edit: did the shirt shrink? i want to know if i have to use the option "adjust measurments for possible shrinking." |

It may have shrunk slightly on the vertical axes (sleeves shortened up a bit and the length may have as well). It's hard for me to comment too much -- as you can see from the photos, any shrinkage of the sleeve length is welcome. I have pretty long arms (and have been shorted on sleeve length before), so I padded that estimate by a couple inches. DON'T DO THAT. ![]() | |

Stephen, the basic "popline" cloth, is that 100% cotton? Not much fabric information on that site.

Thanks for the info. I think with some slight improvements, the shirt will be great.

stephen, did you put in your exact measurements when you selected fitted torso, or did you pad them...I heard someone mention once that doing that resulted in a too tight shirt. Overall very nice though...I've been putting off ordering from them but I will soon

Steven,
I would echo the above posts re: shirt sleeves, length, and I would increase hip width (not waist). What was your turnaround time? Beautiful shirt! thank you for the post! |

Hi Stephen,
Others mentioned that the shirt may be too short. I can't tell exactly how far it extends below your belt line, so could you tell us if you feel the length is ok? Also, what do you think about the quality of the stitching and buttonholes? |

A lot of replies! I still haven't placed my next order yet, so don't order too much! I don't want to wait around for over a year like with some of those "other" shirt tailors that start with a "J".
To answer some of the questions...The "Poplin" fabric I ordered is 100% cotton (I think the term refers to the type of weave). It's not wrinkle free (or treated with anything else as far as I'm aware). I pretty much put my exact measurements, as detailed in the photos they show. The only measurement I padded was the sleeve length (because I have too many unwearable shirts that lost length after washing). As you can tell, padding that wasn't such a great idea. You might want to go 1/4" to 1/2" up on the length if you have similar concerns, but definitely not the full 1-1.5" I did. Turnaround was exactly 3 weeks from order to delivery. They send you a confirmation and a shipment notice when it leaves their warehouse. The length is a bit short, but I may have asked for that. I was looking for something I could possibly wear untucked. I realize now that I don't really want to wear a button-down shirt untucked, but that's a recent learning. The stitching seems fine for a $40 shirt, but I'm not an expert. --edit-- By the way -- be aware (if you do order from them), that other threads mentioned the collar stays are non-removable. I don't wear a suit, so button down works for me, but if you do -- might want to wait until they add removable stays (which I think they plan to soon). Or be aware you might have to cut the fabric to remove them yourself. |

Could just be overstock that was locked away in storage for years, was recently found and liquidated. Or it could be fake, the seller himself could have been duped and is selling jackets with recently printed "vintage" Burberry tags. Who knows. Feedback can be good but from uninformed folks who just don't know better.I guess my point is caveat emptor. If the material and construction is actually up to snuff, it's a good price. Thing is you can't check for fused fronts and seam quality over the internet .I would say "a" for sure. As for "b," I'm not sure if the US-made line is "licensed," per se (though it might be), but it's not up to the quality of the English (or European) products. I doubt it's a fake: anyone who went to the trouble of faking Burberry would choose a trendier item with the signature plaid, and probably not choose something as difficult to make as a sportscoat.
