Campbell is so infantile I wonder how he gets work done. Seriously, he didn't even ask Price that he was passed over twice for the job, so what's in it for him to stay now. But I guess those "big" thoughts don't cross his mind. He seems the type who would be in a position of power if everyone else died and they just handed it to him. Pretty depressing for a guy who was scheming to get Draper out in Season 1.

(although I didn't understand, maybe I'm not an "accounts" man how he fulfills all of his client's needs but Cosgrove makes it like they don't have any needs?)

The nice thing about these past few episodes is seeing more of Roger Sterling. Always wicked fun. I wonder if something is going to tick with him and Joan. They always sound so sympatico.

Duck is back..so the wheels are in motion. Hopefully something will happen to save Sal and that kid who worked for Sal doesn't become Art Director.

Sal will certainly be back. You don't go to all the trouble of setting up a secret like his and then just issue him out quietly.

This I echo. I keep waiting to be impressed, but I am not. This season has been sooooo slow!

+1... The entire time I was thinking 'omg, what a boring ass episode'. I just hope that the episode was purposely, painfully slow to explode during the season finale.

I am enjoying this season. I don't find it boring at all.

It's interesting to see some emotion from Don's perspective.

I think he meant that Pete reacts to what his client asks, but Cosgrove anticipates their needs and gets it done before they even think of it.

Me too. Some of the episodes have lacked for plot momentum, but I still enjoy them all. I'm completely captivated by the notion of the era and how much things will change in the broad culture over the next few years. I'm expecting someone to move to California and get in on the Acid Tests.

The last episode really annoyed me. I really could care less what Pete Campbell or any of the characters thought of Kennedy dying. The show has a real habit of knocking you over the head with proof it's taking place in the 60s. Very clumsy.

it was interesting in that people were considering canceling weddings, not showing up to work, the cake didn't even make it, etc..... seeing the oswald shooting was poignant, too. i can't recall having ever seen someone get shot on live TV like that and can't imagine it happening so close to the assassination while everyone's still all wtf is going on

we're kind of desensitized to the whole thing after growing up with analysis, conspiracy theorists, and oliver stone, but that was some hardcore shit back when it happened.

Agreed. We all know the story. Every reaction of every character on the show was predictable. Dwelling on this was a waste of time.

This is a key point. For them emotionally it was as bad or worse than 9/11 was for us. The first President in recent memory to be assassinated (young, handsome family guy that a lot of people identified with), the lack of instant information about what happened, the comparative general innocence/lack of sophistication (every generation thinks it's the shit, and for that time period it is, but future generations are always amused at what hicks they were), combined with paranoia about Russia and Cuba. Hardcore, indeed.

Both my mother and father stated that this episode really captured the sentiment all over the country during those four days. It was interesting to see how regular Americans reacted to his death
