Default Saddleback Leather Company - Official Affiliate thread

Hi All,

I am pleased to introduce Saddleback Leather Company as an affiliate of Styleforum. ( http://saddlebackleather.com/). I saw one of their bags here in town for the first time not so long ago, and I was pretty impressed. It really was a tank of a bag. The company makes high quality leather bags of all sorts, luggage, small leather goods like wallets, all springing from Dave's adventures in Mexico. I'd say that the company is probably pretty unique if only in that Juarez is not high on my list of places to visit, much less a place from which I'd get the idea to start a leather goods company. I recommend that you read the "About Us" page: http://www.saddlebackleather.com/19-saddleback-story
Usually, they are dullsville PR, but this one is something else.

The bags come with a 100 year guarantee and Dave and Jonathan, who will be the official voice of the company on the forum, stands by their company logo "They'll fight over it when you're dead".

Saddleback Leather will be offering promotions exclusive to Styleforum members, so please stay tuned for Jonathan's posts here.

Cheers,

Fok.

Awesome bags ... website must be getting some SF traffic because it is slow.

Many are tempting, but this one in particular has my eye:

I look forward to your SF promotions!

Ahhhh, the fantastic duffel bag. The Co-Founder of ArsTechnica uses one of our duffels. You might find his post about his trip through Europe with our bag interesting. Click here to read it

Welcome to the forum! I've admired your bags for a long time and started a thread about them here a couple years ago, in fact.

I'm almost ready to purchase an SBL briefcase, but I have one reservation -- the 9" depth. Do these bags flatten out pretty well when they aren't loaded up with stuff, or is the leather sufficiently stiff that the bottom part always bulges out to 9", even when empty? The height and width of the 14" briefcase seem appropriate for my thin 5'9" frame, but I'm afraid that the depth may make this very awkward to carry by my side day-to-day.

I've had my bag for a couple years so far and have enjoyed trying to destroy it, only to make it look better. I'd definitely recommend getting one of these bags. Heavy, but fit any occasion, and built like a tank.
