Jemma is really hot. My wife cannot get past the kids being so extremely ugly. Bad casting we decided.

+1

I watched the show with my roomate last night and she kept talking about how ugly the kids are. I would assume the ugly kids will eventually have some purpose in the show (maybe the son turns into some big stud, etc...)

At least the show is getting interesting. The basketball game was a really cool plot twist.

If you could predict that your kids would grow up that ugly, would you abort them?

Yes the kids are ugly, but its weight, stupid haor, and glasses that do it. They may be decent looking actors who were asked to put on weight and wear ridiculous stuff.

They cancel Carnivale. Cancel Deadwood. Cancel Rome. And this is the drivel they replace it with?

Glad I canceled HBO after Deadwood was axed out of protest.

I was really surprised by Deadwood. I think they hurt their own viewership as I am more reluctant to get too involved in any series now. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

Deadwood was probably the most brilliant, well thought out show I'd ever seen. If you're not careful, you'll get a college level intermediate microecononomic theory class in there without even knowing it!

+1 on that. My gf and I were watching last night and she said the same thing about those kids. His actions at the end of the game were pretty stupid too IMO.

And a lesson or two on negotiating and civil politics. Brilliant show.

It's true, only the good shows die young.

Deadwood and Rome (hell even Carnivale) were great...but how can you compare them to Hung? The budget and scope are totally different. Yeah, they should have completed what they started with those two, but I don't think it was a do away with one to get another type of situation.
