Default PSA: Free Brioni fall jacket @ Filene's Basement Baltimore

That's right, free. If your ethics are a bit more flexible than my own.

There is a nice wool-cashmere reversible zip-front Brioni jacket for sale at Filene's Basement in downtown Baltimore, on the Brioni racks just inside the front door. One side is heather gray, the other a nice brown, and one of the collar sides is leather. I can't remember which was which. Patch pockets on one side, welted pockets on the other side. Very lightweight, not much adornment, it's cut sort of like a loose long-sleeve polo with a full zipper. It's a size Large and it'd be a great casual jacket for fall.

Problem is, it's not labeled for sale anywhere. No tags whatsoever. (Remember, it's reversible, so there's nowhere to put a label.) The only tags of any sort are inside one of the pockets, identifying it as Brioni, made in Italy, etc. etc.

Here's the real kicker - It's concealed INSIDE a lambskin suede Brioni jacket, also size Large. It's been put entirely inside the lambskin coat, as though it were a liner. It is definitely not intended to be. There are two anti-theft RF ink tag thingies - one in each wrist, and they go through BOTH jackets. The suede jacket is listed for sale at $700.

You may have two nice jackets for the price of $700. I thought about doing that, but it's more than I need to spend on items I don't really need right now. However, you may also purchase both jackets, have them slip off the anti-theft tags for you, take out the nice inner jacket for yourself, and then return only the outer jacket, the one with all the price tags, get your money back, and pocket the liner-that's-not-really-a-liner for yourself.

I couldn't bring myself to do it, but it's been eating at me for days. The thought of a good deal passed up. So I thought I'd pass this along as a PSA in the hopes that I will be able to let it go.

Dammit, if I even had $700 in my bank acct. and lived in the area, I would have done that exactly!

You should be banned for this. In related news, you can get FREE movies from netflix by reporting what they sent you as "lost."

While I agree that returning one jacket and keeping the other is unethical, it seems from the OP that the two jackets are in fact being sold as one by FB. I suspect that they probably couldn't even sell you the one if they wanted to. So buying them both is ok with me but not returning one.

Agree. If one were inclined to return one and keep the other, keep it to yourself.

Now can someone do a proxy purchase and return for me?
