    Forest Green Sport Coat Question

Thanks for the tips. I bought the jacket. For some views, here's the link. Note that I did not buy the shirt or tie photographed with it. I think it'll be fine for XMAS and other times. http://picasaweb.google.com/racetrac...reenSportCoat#

    Forest Green Sport Coat Question

Solid or black watch? His was plaid trimmed with satin if I remember correctly? Either is fine. I have a vintage green camel hair one I wear. Remember that Mad Men is also fast approaching the time of breakdown of black tie rules. I'm thinking about adding plaid to my black tie ensemble...

    Forest Green Sport Coat Question

I'm contemplating purchasing a double breasted vintage (narrow lapel) forest green sport coat (not with blazer buttons) and I'm wondering is forest green appropriate for Christmas parties or must the jacket be red - if you wish to be colorful at XMAS time? Any advice would be happy. I don't...

Colorado's elc Mens on Gilt tomorrow

I own Gant.....it depends on how Gilt describes the fit with Gant. For a trim/tailored/slim fit I go to XL. For "traditional" or "true to size" I purchase a large. And it's not like I'm a big guy. Rougly a 41s suit/jacket size (always buy a 42s though), 34 waist. Your message suggests going in...

Colorado's elc Mens on Gilt tomorrow

Shirt arrived. Glad that I ordered the XL (runs a bit small). Quality is impeccable. Great introduction to the brand. Will pair with light khaki/stone chinos tomorrow a brown BB web belt with the blue reversible color peaking through the webs and brown lace ups.

Colorado's elc Mens on Gilt tomorrow

I purchased the blue check shirt in XL. Looking forward to receiving it and seeing your merchandise. I liked the bank bag, too, but it was too carry-allish for me.

Finally got me some NOS Florsheim Kenmoors

+1 Though many on SF love to romanticize about the great old days (and construction) of the Florsheim Kenmoor (and I agree that they were very well made), others rightly warn about the slipping and sliding dangers of the 64 nails in the heels. This is true. Be extremely careful walking in them...

Black Leather shoes - small nicks and cuts/tears

Pictures would help. But, if you can't, try this: Heat up a black crayon, rub into the gouge. Take the back of a spoon, with your thumb rub the effected area until smooth. Polish. Could you be a little more specific on one thing...heat up the crayon over a stove? Until semi soft, very soft...

what type of polish for pebble grain Florsheim Kenmoors in cognac?

Do you mean the creme? Had a look on their website and they sell creme but not polish. I tend to use wax for its protective aspects but am willing to give creme a try Yes creme.

what type of polish for pebble grain Florsheim Kenmoors in cognac?

Florsheim brand "amber" polish is the manufacturer's choice for the shoe. I own the same shoes and the polish is a perfect match.

    I haven't worn a black shoe in 6 months.

I've added 5-6 people to my ignore list from this thread. Thank you, avatar-less joined-in-the-last-two-months creeps. Glad to know that having an opinion makes me a creep. Welcome to SF, I guess.

    I haven't worn a black shoe in 6 months.

I have 3 pair of black shoes, but plan to add no more to my stockpile: 1) AE McAllister Wingtips: Suitable for the charcoal/grey suits 2) J&M Crown Aristocraft Westchester Loafers: Suitable for the grey flannels, blue blazer winter look 3) Florsheim Imperial Kenmoor Plain Toe Bluchers: Suitable...

Pics of My Indian Kenmoors - 2009 - 2 Days Old

I see. Well I'll send it back to Florsheim in Montreal and see what they say. I can see some cracks in other places that don't look like cuts too. It'll be interesting to see whether these shoes were seconds at the factory store location. My shoes were purchased from the Florsheim shoe shop in...

Pics of My Indian Kenmoors - 2009 - 2 Days Old

Of course...it's just protecting them from the elements and sundry scuffs and deep creasing. They look identical to how they appeared in the box when new. It's more than suitable for business. The cognac Kenmoors are lookers period. If you refer to your gashed Kenmoors...if they are not...

Pics of My Indian Kenmoors - 2009 - 2 Days Old

Sean, First of all, I want to give you condolences on the damage to the Kenmoor. I tend to agree that you committed shoeicide with it some point given the vamp damage. If the good folks at Florsheim will do something for you, then go for an exchange. If they won't, then contact your credit card...

Pics of My Indian Kenmoors - 2009 - 2 Days Old

I did recently buy a pair of AE McAllisters in black - was looking for a non-gunboat and they are really nice and comfortable. I can recommend them for quality, price, and comfort. I will say, however, that when we're talking about the wingtip hall of fame, the Kenmoor is Babe Ruth.
