    Issue w/ Chester Jefferies Order

I assume it's the same for all clothing or bespoke tailoring in the UK to take 2 weeks vacation for Christmas. My order for a waistcoat from Bookster is on order and it states on their site 8-10wks due to backorders from the holiday, normally 6-8wks. My 1st order from CJ took 3/4wks to arrive...

The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Brei

Saved lots of $$$ on duty via Royal Mail rather than the US outlet. Between 6 and 8 days is the norm. This one was ordered Dec 8th and was signed for by Canada Post Dec 12. And now it sits in Canada Customs. As the email from Canada Post CS says 'they have the legal right to hold as long as...

    Sherlock Holmes: the Attire

"the crooked man". The scene where Holmes, and Watson are in the Army officers office. He states he's only interested in the case pr military matters as it relates as being a favor to someone. Another series worth watching is Murder Rooms Dark beginnings of Sherlock Holmes.

    Pictures of nice gloves...?

Got the replacement pair, and both are side/side. They're buttery smooth and smell even better. One pair is darker grey than the other. Unlined chamois. Outside seams VS inside seams. Inside fit really tight and look much better, while outside seams feel smooth while the hand is in the glove...

    Pictures of nice gloves...?

Mine came with the same stitching and button, but in frigate grey chamois. Very soft sort of suede . But I don't like the outside type of stitching and had them make me another pair with the seams hidden on the inside of the glove. Can't stand anything other than a smooth look. Still waiting to...

    Cars We Drive!

For my needs (and my wallet's needs), a normal manual transmission suits me fine. That's the other point, less complicated, easier to fix/upgrade(older Audi suto can't handle much above 350/400ftlb for people who go stage 3 with the twin turbo), and no damn routine fluid changes. Lifetime fluid...

Does anyone here own an Audi TT? Are the maintenance and repair costs much that bad? Depends what year and engine. Check out the vwvortex.com forums, Call the dealer and ask about maint. costs for each engine. Not sure on the TT side, but know the timing belt job for the 3.0L far outweighs all...

    Cars We Drive!

Ok. Why the overfilling? I don't understand. I've also never had a shop change oil in anything I drive so it was never something I was concerned with. Because most of these shop techs drive cars other than the ones they're working on, and don't know the specs for the oil they should be using or...

    Cars We Drive!

Yea a $95 oil change versus a $900 oil change. Avoid the dealer anyway. DIY so they don't overfill or give substandard oil. I guarantee, NONE of them offer what you should be putting in it, which is Lubro Moly 5w40 - a group IV FULL synthetic. Runs about $7 a bottle at NAPA

    Cars We Drive!

Was looking at a 5 series the other day. Back seat is a little cramped so I can only imagine what clients would think of a 3 series - wouldn't even think of an A4. But seriously, the C class was even worse. E class only marginally better. The 750i they had also was about the same as the 5, and...

    Cars We Drive!

I'm not sure if the SMART diesel gets a different transmission than the gas version. Too bad Merc screwed up by not bringing those over FIRST. 60+ MPG for christ sake. THAT'S MARKETING, or in their case, not. Same goes for BMW with the twin turbo diesel at 35mpg when the gas tt gets 30. WHO...

    Pictures of nice gloves...?

Since you're going to Napoli I'll repost these: They're unlined deer skin gloves from M.Cilento (first posted in my 'Back from Italy' thread). Not a lover of that type of seam stitch - too blocky/bulgy. I got my chamois CJs today, and they have that type. I prefer the invisible seam stitch...

Not forgetting the high cost of maintenance. I saw a Carerra GT at the local dealership, and I know just to work under it the body length belly pan needs removing. A 2 or 3 man job.

    Wristwatch or pocket watch?

They're easier to read at 53mm and not as gaudy as a wristwatch would be at the same size. Plus you get to take the time to admire it while finding out the time

Should I throw a hissy fit at Aspinal?

It certainly did do something for them... I didn't buy. I sent off several emails asking them to explain their price differences between the UK & US website which was around $10 difference for a wallet and had inaccurate currency conversion, and probably other items I never looked at. They...

    Cars We Drive!

I'm not too big on the fixes I've seen other Z4M owners use to remove them. They glow like this in every shot I take of the car. ecstuning.com added a BMW section. I know most either paint over them or there are plastic covers to go over or replace them.
