Navy Suit with Light blue Gingham Shirt

Blue gingham shirts with a navy suit is one of my favorite combinations too. I've seen a lot of them with double cuffs as well, and I think this is a pretty normal combination even though gingham is considered a somewhat informal pattern.

Tailoring Suit Trousers to be Slimmer?

I had my Golden Fleece trousers recut by Brooks Brothers about 6 months ago at the Seattle Brooks Brothers. The tailor there did some of the work and I think he sent the pants out for the rest of the recut, but the results were really quite fantastic. They removed the pleats and thinned the...

Recommend me the best shaving brush?

I'm also a big fan of Vulfix. I use their travel brush and it's held up very well despite my less than stellar treatment of it. There have been quite a few times where I've had to pack it up into its container while still damp, and I don't really suspend it hairs down like it should be.

    Fragrance Top 10

My wife also purchased the shower gel for me recently, and when we last stopped in the Kiehl's store, I purchased the Original Musk fragrance. She later told me that had I not purchased it, she would have bought it for me. She says out of all my fragrances, that this is her favorite so far. I...

Brooks Brothers $60 stick umbrella - any good?

I have this umbrella, and it has some cheezy looking construction in some spots, like the velcro and plastic, but functionally it seems to have worked just fine. Hasn't flipped inside out on me or anything crazy yet. I got it because I just wanted something that looked decent that I could throw...

Is every man lead to believe they have broad shoulders?

I wonder if there's a chart somewhere that shows the average shoulder widths in relation to their chest measurement. I'm about a 19" and size 42", but since friends ask me sometimes to help them with suit ideas, it would be nice to know what sorts of brands I can point them towards if...

Is every man lead to believe they have broad shoulders?

I never worked for any high end clothier, just sold clothes part time briefly many years ago in college, but I noticed then that pretty much every man described themselves as broad shouldered when asking about fit. Put somebody in a suit and sometimes they would insist on going a size up to...

    Gin, Rum, Vodka

Gin for me as well. Hendricks is my personal favorite, with cucumber. Straight or with tonic. I never cared for the taste of Bombay Sapphire for some reason. Most people I know say that it's their favorite gin, but I found it disagreeable, ended up giving the bottle away for someone to make...

Suit vs. Street: Which is more difficult

Maybe suit costs more, but there seems to be more rules in place so most people with some basic advice can probably at least look decent without making too much effort. I can't easily figure out what I want to wear casually, so it's a lot more difficult for me to figure out street style.

    Being Asian-American in Japan

You could try punching them in the face if treated badly. The cops probably wouldn't be able to get positive ID on you because all of us Asians look the same.

(Old) What Are You Wearing Now/Today? Part II - pictures only - no discussion

G-star shirt Loomstate jeans Unknown belt Hugo Boss sneakers Simple outfit again today, might still wear my Spiewak field jacket over it since it's a bit chilly out still. Anybody know of other companies that make short sleeve dressy type shirts that fit similarly to G-Star?

    Thick as Thieves ONLINE

Got my TaT suit back last week with some tweaks. Very happy with it, has a cool red lining, and the pants fit perfectly snug. Sorry for using the crappiest camera ever. Midnight navy flannel 1-btn peak lapel with hacking pockets. Next suit I'm going to try shrinking the chest and shoulders of...

    Favourite Cigarettes

Marshall McGearty's are OK, but I don't find that they are any better than other typical flavor infused cigarettes from Camel. I've settled on Botschafter these days when I choose to smoke. Or I roll my own.

Brooks Brothers Sales & Fitzgerald Suit

Big fan of the Fitzgerald. Wore my navy stripe Fitzgerald on Saturday, and somebody asked me who made the suit. They couldn't believe it was a Brooks Brothers because it was so trim. I had the sides taken in at the waist about 1/2" on each side to give it more shape. The Fitzgerald...

    Concealing an epi-pen.

Take 550 parachute cord and take out the inside white cords. Use it to lanyard your EpiPen, and just hide it inside your pants and loop the lanyard through your belt loop or your belt so it doesn't fall. Unless you wear tight pants, it should work fine. That's the tactical geek way to do it...

    Why So Many Small Sizes?

I'm 6'1 and fluctuate between 185-195, and I think e54 fits rather loosely. Hrm. So at 6'1", 175, I should be wearing what? I can't fit into anything smaller than an e54. Am I doing something wrong?

FS 34-34 Kasil Elliot Dry Atlantic

Worn once for an hour or two, washed once. Haven't worn it since, like new. 34-34 Kasil Elliot model jeans. Dry atlantic wash color. Actual waist is 36, actual inseam is 33.5. Leg opening is about 9.25". Knee is 8.75". Pretty much a straight leg jean from what I can tell, though I don't know...

FS Polo RLBL 42L Tan Birdseye Suit

Also another suit that I never wear that I am selling to simplify my life. Lapel closeup photo shows true color. I took in the sides slightly, and put in a small shoulder pad on each side because I have sloped shoulders. You can alter it to remove the extra pad I'm sure. Looks like new pretty...
