    J Crew & Loro Piana???

Since when are J Crew wool suits made with Loro Piana fabric? Their latest Aldridge and Ludlow suiting states that the fabric is from Loro Piana. Does this affect their quality in a more positive way (compared to past/present views of J Crew suits on SF), or is the more important issue here...

Look in streetwear & denim and you will find what you are looking for .

    RLPL officially uncool

There is a definite and true difference between people who truly understand what style is, and how to wear it, and those who through money, fame, and fortune, try to fit into the mold that is called "style".

Can a Rolex Submariner (no manouche) be worn as a beater watch?

Can a Submariner take a beating, yes. My question would be why you would want to spend $5200 on a watch to use while, oh I don't know, mowing the lawn, doing yard work, fixing things around the house, etc....? There are many other watches on the market that pull off the submariner look, at a...

Want to make a lasting impression

I want to help, but not to read your wall of text. All you need to say is that there's a business meeting in AZ, you're supposed to dress business casual, and you want to make an impression without overdoing anything. You could then list what you plan to bring (no ginormous paragraphs or random...

Want to make a lasting impression

Haha, great first post. He's right, though. Don't describe your outfits. Put them on and post pics. Unfortunately I do not have the time, or means to post all of my "possible" looks. I'm just looking for some honest feedback/guidance, that's all. I can't expect to aspire to the looks of...

Want to make a lasting impression

Yes. You will make a lasting impression as the guy who talks/writes too much, Tolstoy. Had this reply come from a respected forum member, and not a troll, I would have taken it with some consideration. Since it has not, I would rather just ***** slap you back under the rock you came out from...

Collars - in or out of sweaters

It depends on the shirt and collar size. I agree with this. When the V-neck is worn with a dress shirt, in. When worn with a casual shirt, with a soft collar, out. It really depends on the shirt.

What do you think of this coat? Is it too GQ?

Well it is a size Small from Banana Republic which came out to $80 (sticker price of $250). I don't believe they make an extra small, so I can't purchase anything smaller. Is it worth getting tailored, because I assume that would be expensive - probably more than the price of the coat. Get it...

What do you think of this coat? Is it too GQ?

+1 ^^. You could have sized down 1, and maybe even had it tailored beyond that. Nice coat though.......I think you could pull off casual and bussiness dress with this. Banana Republic??

Poggianti Shirts - need down and dirty opinions

C'mon guys, I want the heavy hitters to weigh in. Bespoke, MTM, Borrelli, etc... are not an option for some of us. We need alternatives.

    I don't like Allen-Edmonds

What most are forgetting here is that the point of a "business" is to make money. Whether we like it or not the members of SF are the exception, not the norm. We all make up a very small percentage of the "shoe wearing population". AE is in the "business" of making money, and truth be told, they...

Poggianti Shirts - need down and dirty opinions

OK.....I can't even take that auction seriously. That guy had to be as high as a kite, or three sheets to the wind when he wrote that. Seriously.........F@$%ed up. Please let there be more...

Poggianti Shirts - need down and dirty opinions

Ok...I've done a search and there are conflicting views on these shirts. Marshall's has about 20 of these right now for $49.99 and I need to know if they are TRULY worth that price. I have inspected the shirts and they seem well made, great buttons, cotton has a very soft feel, and shirts are...

What is the general StyleForum consensus on Men's Dress Boots?

I believe the boots that you displayed in your very first attachment are the low mali boot by Banana Republic. Much better suited for casual attire IMHO. There are other examples in this thread, and on the forum in general, that are more appropriate examples of a "dress boot". As for a...

    Bourbon.

I am surprised not to see any love for Russell's Reserve in this thread. I find the quality vs. price ratio to be superb ($29.00 for 750ml). Try it, and I am sure it will find it's way into your rotation as it has mine. I've experienced full bottles of Blanten's, Jefferson's reserve, Knob Creek...
