When is the Next Brooks Brothers Sale?

Hmm... when i search for that in my size I only get the Brooks Aberdeen Brown Grain -- much darker and with a lugged sole. But good to know.

Welp -- got one of those 40% coupons...guess I have to see if they'll work on their Peal & Co cordovans or these long wingtips: http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Long-Wingtips/MH00215,default,pd.html?dwvar_MH00215_Color=BRWN&dwvar_MH00215_Size=10_D&contentpos=71&cgid=0522

I'm in a very similar situation to the original question-er (semi-casual work place, I like dressing a notch more formal than my immediate boss) and wholly agree with this advice. I have a very basic shirt collection, a number of v-neck sweaters and cardigans in staple colors (navy, grey...

In search of summer-weight odd jackets in 38R or L. Prefer soft or unstructured. Looking for staples (except the navy blazer): grey, tan, olive, brown. Promotion is requiring more and more ties-but-not-suits. Don't let me look like a used car salesman this spring/summer. Also open to good...

Tie bar on a knit tie strikes me as wrong and overly foppish. But I'm a young guy with conservative style and liberal ideals. I'd opt for a silk knit or grenadine with a navy suit assuming its worsted. If it is a thicker fabric (flannel, tweed etc) a wool knit. If it is a cotton or linen...

NEW MEMBER INQUIRIES & QUICK QUESTIONS- CLASSIC MENSWEAR: WK OF MAR 2, 2015

I'm in my first seasons of wearing a pair of SWIMs galoshes (the latter term is maybe what you want to search for.) Whole range is here: http://www.swims.com/men/galoshes.aspx . I'm generally happy with them though there are a few small modifications I would make. I can't comment on durability...

Looking for brown (snuff or chocolate) suede chukka recommendations in the $200-$400 range. Rubber (dainite etc) sole, quality suede. Possibilities: - AE Gobi @ $177 http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF8998_1_40000000001_-1?style=8998 (Maybe too casual. Uninspired by online...

I do a lot of sweater + tie. Ties are too fun not to wear, jacket is usually overdone for my workplace where most are in wrinkly button downs and nasty shoes. Today's example with a sig. less baller cardigan than you purpose. I find I pay a lot of attention to getting a decent formality match...

Please help me pick a good versatile shoe for travel.

I like them. Sort of an odd combo of a dressy leather with a casual moc & beefroll concstruction. What are they made out of? Seems oddly shiny if they aren't shell...

    Charles Tyrwhitt Reviews and Fitting

Don't have any experience with their spreads but wearing one of their button down sport shirts in oxford cloth now. Great heavy material. Collar is a bit shorter than a Brooks, roll isn't as nice but still a decent shirt for $25 (good sale) to $40 (normal sale).

    Minimalist Shoe Collection

Based on that.... Black cap toe oxford in calf -- for when you need it Penny loafer Full brogue (i.e. wingtip), derby if you wear mostly chinos/twill pants, oxford if you wear more worsted wools. Chukka boot with Danite sole. The last three should all be different shades of medium to dark...

+1. Maybe some spot-application of Saphir Reno'Mat if it is needed....not that I've ever tried reno on only a spot but I'd think it'd work...in theory.

    SWIMS overshoes

Well... first, SWIMs says in the instructions that come with every new pair not to wear them over suede. (Source: Just got a pair of SWIMs for this winter and read the instructions.) As to why this is, I'd guess two reasons. 1. Suede and wet whether don't go together very well. Since SWIMs /...

French cuffs -- are they for suits only? Or are they appropriate with an odd jacket and worsted trousers? Context: Friend is suddenly getting married to their partner next week at the courthouse. A long time ago they gave me some special cufflinks I'd like to wear. A suit seems over the top...
