What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

I own a shoe business but I don't think it matters. Both Vass & AM could be my competitor. I don't see any conflict when the topic is which of them is better. Not interested to discuss anything except the shoes themselves, I am just kind of paranoid about technical stuff. You can get any shoe...

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

haha so now you're talking about money, tell me how much then, 500k HKD? 1M? Shall we talk about watches now? What the point of mentioning a bespoke phase-one while everyone knows we are discussing shoes?

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

um... then why do I give Vass a compliment? I don't sell Vass and I don't make money from them, too much conspiracy theory. I simply just stating out facts and offering you materials to learn more about shoe making, do it or not it's up to you.

haha, you really make my day, such a funny person, dude you should really learn more about shoes before you argue with others, friendly and honest suggestions.

And you tell me this upper looks okay? Interesting.

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

Not saying it's gonna break but wrinkles will be quite ugly lmao. How about this, this is a pair from Roberto Ugolini, the cheapest Bespoke shoes in my collection, they have been made back in 2015, and I have been wearing them for more than 7 years. Show me a pair of 5 years old or above...

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

Not some models, in general, most Vass shoes finished better than these... upper overly waxed, and also the sole, should never be polished with mirror polish unless you're making a sample, and obviously he didn't apply CMC/Funori on the sole leather before polishing it, no heat treat been done...

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

And I told you my opinion already. Technically wise Vass is better since they're offering shoes with fully hand-sewn construction at that price, no other makers offer the same thing at that price, and material wise it would be more than a thousand words needed to explain, I'm not gonna do that...

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

I only said "the finishing is kinda **** in my eyes" and "there're many makers offering better stuff at a better price" and I have explained. I have never said “AM’s quality is ****”, don't put words in my mouth, thank you. A friendly suggestion, if you don't know much about shoemaking, check...

Same, as expected you just simply ignoring all the facts, can't wake a person who is pretending to be asleep.

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

I'm not interested to get any pair from him, I don't need to get diarrhea before I tell you the milk went bad, you can tell from the smell. Enjoy your shoes from AM if they make you happy.

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

But what if a professional sees the car in person and checked the details? Yeah, something you can't tell before you drive it, but some can. Stop doing inappropriate metaphors dude, I'm not here to convince you not to get AM's shoes, just go for it if you're happy with the result, I'm just...

Not just pic dude, I touched them in person, lmao you're so funny for real.

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

I'm not badmouthing anyone, you can judge technical stuff and materials by simply just looking at them, the only things I can't judge are style and comfortability, you don't need to wear a pair of shoes before telling it's well made or not.

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

A lot of friends showed me his work, every year. And I have just polished a pair of shoes from him for a client of mine lmao. It's not that difficult dude.

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

Dude, blind stitching is never gonna happen on machine-made outsole unless the waist is not welted but done by another method such as wooden pegged. And as I mentioned, there're tons of much better makers out there offering better stuff at a better price, just you don't know. I own over a...

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

Dude, since you mentioned the price, I just checked the price online and I guess it should be from his Argentum lined. Compared to a full hand-sewn outsole, dying the waist of the outsole is actually quite easy and you know what, this waist design was firstly done by Qnai Atsushi, then AM copied...

What to choose between Vass and Antonio Meccariello

Personal taste is personal, but Vass offering fully hand stitched construction in that price is crazy enough. It’s totally different than just hand welted, much more reliable. Thank you for your kind comment too, you’re too kind on this tho.
