    Suitsupply NYC

I don't own any (recent) Lazio jackets, but after inquiring about a custom made Havana, I was told by SUSU's customer service that ordering a jacket with "Havana options" (patch pockets? soft shoulder?) would result in a jacket with a fit similar to the Havana. The jacket that arrived was...

Color for a 'just below the knee' length trench coat on a tall and skinny guy

Just FYI; the navy cloth that Traditional Rainwear uses is extremely dark, more black than blue (at least it was when I ordered mine). I don't know if they still do this, but they sent me a few swatches of other colours they had in stock at the time, and I ended up with a charcoal one as a...

    Meermin Mallorca Shoes

These felt pretty, well, solid when I got them out of the box. I've also experienced some heel slippage, but that turned negligible after a few wears. Now, this probably comes down to gait and my feet, but a bigger problem for me is that the tip of the sole at the toe and the area underneath the...

It wasn't a definition of approachability, but a statement on what works in a particular situation.

To the SFers that don't work in a field which requires suit and tie: When do you actually wear your

I already got plenty of those, and they do me well! (Getting taken seriously by adults isn't the primary concern most days though...) Really though, and without wishing to offend, the cases in which I don't wear tailored clothes at work are very specific, and done for reasons you can't really...

To the SFers that don't work in a field which requires suit and tie: When do you actually wear your

I agree in principle, but theory is only worth so much. In this case, it's the simple matter of clothes creating too much distance between me and some of my pupils. Sure, it isn't the biggest factor, but sometimes every little bit helps, and I've got no qualms with sacrificing style for...

Teacher. Lower secondary school at the moment. SC, shirt and dress trousers, chinos or jeans. No tie, as it would be slightly out of place, and because it can be somewhat unpractical when you're surrounded by 25+, at times rowdy, kids. This is most days though, depending on the classes I'm...

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

I've got a Mulligan on the Colt last. I wear a 6.5 UK on the Capital last, and a 7UK on the Colt last gives me room for a felt insole and some thickish socks. I'd say the two lasts are pretty equal in terms of sizing, though the Colt feels a slight bit wider.

    Sole Welting

For, say, medieval shoes, you sew the shoe (on the last or with no last, the last makes it easier but is by no means necessary), soak it, and then turn it. Carefully. Even though the soles aren't that thick, you have to be very careful not to break the stitches at the toe. You can sew the toe...

    Sole Welting

Turn-shoes with rands came about pretty early, and "Shoes and Pattens" (Museum of London) shows turn-welt construction from about 1450.

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

Heh, I'm in Bergen as well, and I got myself a pair of Mulligans just before Christmas. I normally wear a UK 6.5 or 7, and I got them in the latter. Fits well, with room for some felt insoles. The quality seems decent to me, the colour is very nice, and the leather has broken in well. It does...

Richard was a pleasure to deal with; communication was prompt, and the whole process was very efficient! Definitely recommended!
