Thanks to everyone who mentioned Tropical, that wasn't on my radar. I have the Spence Bryson books. Tyrone is actually 275 grams per meter squared, which is almost exactly the same as W Bill per (380 grams per running meter, width is 137cm). But I prefer heavier too, so Tropical sounds...- Fanthom

All relative, agreed. In my mind linen is an alternative to cotton, not to high-twist wool. I wonder how heavy you could go with linen trousers. Ulster Weavers have a book of heavier linens that look nice (Tyrone), but they are sold as furnishings.. :blush:- Fanthom
