+1 can't be arsed with all this 'I'm an instigator' bollocks either Roy - was talking to a chap at the weekend who was on about an old Chelsea face called Bill Finney I think? Ring any bells?

That photo was posted earlier on this thread. Said they were Barrow but pretty certain they're not. Still, they're definitely scruffy enough to be from up my way :D

Another one for the older chaps - centre creases as a rule on all non-jeans strides or was it a matter of individual preference?

Like Brideshead says, I tend to use it as a yardstick. Might have to get some...

Another footwear question gents - were dessies ever worn? Haven't seem much (or any?) photographic evidence of it.

Got me confused that pic. If they're proper Barrow lads they wouldn't be wearing red & white scarves. They look scruffy enough to be from up my neck of the woods mind

Just checked back on that photo - it's from 1974 by a bloke called Chris McHugh. I've got a couple of brown Dorset Smedleys like the one that young kid on the right is wearing, big fan of Smedley knitwear. They've got Dorsets for £54 (normally £135) in the sale on their website at the moment...
