I have re crafted AE's numerous times over the past 10 years. Let me say that I agree entirely. It took me a long time to figure it out, but I no longer wear them. The sole wears down quickly to begin with and the re crafted shoe always has problems. Thanks for the kind words!- Daytona John

TO be fair, it's not that easy to get a pair of Park Avenues for $120 new. I paid $150 for one pair, but that was not necessarily a repeatable event. It's true that when they say "near new," they don't specify the parameters. But expecting damaged leather to be replaced or magically healed...- Daytona John

Start with a hidden agenda, add unreasonable expectations and ignore the disclaimers about damaged leather and you'll be unhappy with the outcome. What hidden agenda? Interesting. In many respects, I consider Lange a peer who can sit at the same table as Patek, VC, and certainly AP. Not innovative? Anyone checked out the new Calibre L922.1 Sax-O-Mat movement? Anyone own the AE Thayer in black? Photos please!
If anyone else has any suggestions on where to source a pair at a good price I'd appreciate it know....I've been watching eBay for a pair in 8D for weeks without success...STP doesn't have 'em...any other ideas?- Daytona John

Not really. It would be PT / SS if the case were PT and the bracelet were SS, but since the case is SS and the bracelet is SS, it's SS/SS w/ PT Bezel. Since whenever they closed down their last USA factory. Wow...they no longer have any USA production? Made in Mexico or other 3rd world country now? What about their "made in Italy" models? Are they any better?- Daytona John

My general perception from the online sartorial community is that J&M shoes are to be avoided. At what point did J&M "jump the shark"? I assume a change in ownership of the company caused this? Are there any pockets of their production which still earn the respect of this...- Daytona John

Nice. I like the regular "˜Rolesium' SS/SS Yachtmaster. Jon. The "Rolesium" Yacht-Master is PT/SS, not SS/SS. The platinum is in both the bezel and the dial.- Daytona John
