speaking of tacos: esp fish tacos.... anyone try Ricky's Fish Tacos? It seems like a hassle finding it, then parking. Not really a fan of Best Fish Taco in Ensenada over in Los Feliz....I do like Taco Baja Ensenada over in East LA though and Taco Nazo (chain). yeah taco nazo sucks bro... Ricky's...- pinoy

I've tried Carmela at the South Pasadena Farmer's Market and that stuff is awesome. More Bi-Rite, less Scoops. They don't dive into Crazyville with their flavors, but they are still pretty uncommon (salted caramel, buttermilk strawberry, earl grey, etc) Carmela's mint w cocoa nibs is crazy...- pinoy

Had the niman ranch burger and quite enjoyed it. A couple of aspects about it I preferred to the gs burger (slight charred crust, toasty bun and the pickles/sauce) but with a couple mods the gs burger would be as good if not better. you hit the nail on the head and that's exactly what makes...- pinoy

To mind, most of the "real" Brazilian places I've been to are out on the Westside like on Venice but usually it's pretty home-cooked fare so I'm not sure how much people would really appreciate it if they didn't grow up on it. spicy bbq's khao soi is a little controversial since they use non-dairy creamer in the broth. i'd recommend pailin instead. haha yes definitely aware of that... i never said it didn't have possible health effects! :P i still eat it though.. but yes pailin is very good and i've also heard...- pinoy

Thoughts on jitlada in hollywood..our any thai in that area .went a few weeks ago. It was good but not mind blowing...some of the renu nakorn/thai nakorn in oc were better. X agreed. mussels were good as are the morning glory salad, rice salad, fish kidneys, and fried catfish... but rest are...- pinoy

disagree. ate there about 3 years ago, they overcooked my burger so I didn't bother going back. I'm a fan of Father's office and R+D. FO isn't that great dude westside tavern burger is better. i felt like the sandwiches at SOAG were definitely good enough to warrant a return other favorites in LA include Gjelina, Lazy Ox Canteen, Kiriko, Angelini's Osteria, Kokekokko and Rustic Canyon. Rustic Canyon makes what I think is the best burger in LA. Of those who have tried it... agree or...- pinoy
