I think my post came off the wrong way. You didn't make that inference but I was sharing my experience because so many people seem to think MiUSA = quality perfection which isn't always the case. Sorry for the confusion!

I know it's easy to say that third world manufacturing = junk, but my BB clothes from the third world have all held up fine. The only issue I've had with BB has been a suit with a plethora of problems: jacket collar stitching came completely unraveled, trousers ripped at pocket side seam on...

I just ordered two sports coats; one was made in Thailand and the other in Egypt. When did they start making clothes there?

Well, we know they've been moving in a different/disjointed direction for a long time. The new 1818 dress shoes on their website don't look very elegant and have a weird assortment of non-trad styles. Not much of anything to pair with a suit. Over the summer, I needed some extra spend to get...

Hi folks. Reposting this after several members requested I post some better pics. These shoes fit my foot well but there seems to be some weird creasing going on, especially in the toe box. I still haven't worn them outside so they can be returned for a new size. Any thoughts?

Very minor slip on one foot because one foot is 1/2 size larger than the other. I've owned other shoes on this last but this is the first pair in this size (12 C). Between some weight change and probably some bad sizing advice, I'm giving this size a shot for the first time. I can post some...

I'm trying out a new size on these Fifth Avenues, but I'm concerned about what appears to be some creasing in the toe box. These shoes seem to fit great, but I am concerned since toe box creasing is never a good sign. Do you think I should try a different size?

If you like the style, fit, and price, then go for it. I know J&M is very unpopular (for some good reasons) on SF, but I have to say I've been very happy with my Crown Aristocraft Conley wingtips. The leather is top notch and they fit me great. I picked up a new pair that had a minor scratch...

Are there any shell cordovan models in the RDA sale? Apologies if this was already asked.

When you say you want boots, are you thinking an actual leather boot or chukkas/desert boots? The latter would seem to me to be more in-line with what you are likely describing but wanted to check.

Does anybody else have experience with side bowing on the Randolph penny loafer? I just picked up a pair of the equivalent "Patriot" loafer from Jos A. Bank on sale. However, with each step I see some bowing on the side. There are a slew of angry reviews on the AE website for the Randolph model...

Not sure if this was previously posted, by Jos A. Bank has their Allen Edmonds collection on sale for about $273/pair. While the names are different, the styles are basically slight variations on the Park Avenue, Fifth Avenue, a penny loafer, and I think one that looked like the Strand.

Can I please get some sizing advice? My first pair of Aldens (908 - Hampton Last) are a great fit at 11.5C. I know for some lasts you have to size down a half size; should I maintain the same width? This was the first pair of narrow shoes I've ever owned but worked well for me because my foot is...

Breaking in my first pair of Aldens today. As I was walking outside in the morning sun, I noticed an odd glossy finish on part of the leather on my right shoe. This wasn't visible in my dark apartment. Would this be concerning to any of you?

I did, and it boiled down to cost. Ponying up $530 for the calfskin was a tad bit easier to stomach than the ~$700 for the cordovan for my very first pair of Aldens. Maybe the next pair :).

Thank you all for your advice on my 1st pair of Aldens. I ended up getting a slightly different version of the burgundy mediallian captoe - the 908 balmoral model. I think they are absolutely stunning but I'm curious to hear if you guys think they are a good, versatile first pair. I haven't worn...

Yes, that's it! Just in burgundy, not black. I really want to make sure that this first purchase is the right one. Glad to hear that you guys think it's a good choice. My only fear is that this will start a very expensive new habit.

Question - I want to invest in my first pair of Aldens. I was thinking of getting the burgundy medallian captoe. Do you think that would be a good versatile first pair of Aldens to get (with suits)?
