In anticipation for tomorrow's show (!), I thought I might as well post the YYPH spring show from 1999 as it hasn't been posted yet afaik.I guess the theme was "couples", so siblings, lovers, married couples, colleagues etc modeled the clothes. A few particular type of jackets were explored here, some details like zip off sleeves and openings, shoulder/elbow details, some technical fabrics, torn paper detailing, patchwork patterns etc. Ends with every participant coming...
Ivwri, no haven't checked my mail all day as google and everything connected to it has stopped working in my browser for the last couple of days, lol. It's a hassle so I tend not to check..! Will do now though Though I am very down with geeking out completely over things like this (probably noticable throughout this whole thread) I'm not sure what this fabric list will lead to, hehe, especially since they don't carry over between collection. I do like knowing the season...
Oh yeah, if you/we are composing a joint fabric list, people should specify the specific season for each entry using the collection code list as much as possible because the fabric codes are not carried over between seasons. So you will see the same number/code for completely different fabrics or fabric blends depending on the season. I think linen and ramie can go under the same heading perhaps? Not sure what the difference is, though I'm sure there is one, but in...
kiko, that fits you impeccably. Big congrats on getting that, great find. Looking at the old shows, like you guys I love how he's really mixing models with different body shapes, and seeing some of the older runway shows they just had a different energy, a more relaxed vibe I guess. It seems like he started using regular models and straight forward shows from AW01 and onwards and didn't start using older or different shaped models until SS09 again. I wonder what brought...
BTW, I hope you guys watched the AW96 show. It's quite stunning imo, up there with the winter shows from 94 and 95. His mid 90's shows are just incredible.
Ivwri, that looks great, both the jacket and those pants are indeed stand-out pieces. cupper, so the jacket has the old style tag (pre-91) but there is still an item code? This confuses the hell out of me, hehe. Adding to that, I've never come across HW before. I wonder... there is at least one non-season code afaik (HA) that I've ever only seen on undershirts/turtlenecks, I wonder what HW would be... I have a few Y's pieces with MW code but Y's codes are different, only...
AUTUMN-WINTER 1996-1997 "Scissor work, minimal rough cuts, design work over structured shapes. Felt, a humble material, becomes a sublime, noble casing. And always an emphasis on the back, a delicately erotic focal point." Part 1 of 7
to keep digging in the archives - here's a small treat for us who don't have the old catalogues/lookbooks: eddy kohli (A/W 83-84?) http://vimeo.com/44650599 max vadukul (A/W 84-85 + S/S 85) http://vimeo.com/44651312 paolo roversi (A/W 85-86) http://vimeo.com/44650788 nick knight 01 (A/W 86-87) http://vimeo.com/44649080 nick night 03 (A/W 87-88 + S/S 88) http://vimeo.com/44650265 nick knight 02 (S/S 88 + A/W 88-89 + S/S 90) http://vimeo.com/44649502 david sims (A/W...
Glad you guys like it! For those of you who wanted the tag codes for the 90's collections, I just about finsihed this up and I think it's correct (double checked most of them) though I am grateful for any corrections. As far as I know, the look of the tags changed with AW91 from the soft brushstroke signature to the sharp edged one used today, but the codes didn't appear until AW92 as far as I can tell - though I'm 100% sure about this. I initially thought that SS92 had...
Ok, I finally managed to get the archive pictures into my computer. Like I said the quality isn't very good, the pictures in the magazine are thumbnail sized. Anyway, these are all the archive pics I've seen but if anyone sits on other/better pictures, please post. Will post the late 90's collections later on.YYPH [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] [[SPOILER]] ...
