A little more info on the twill jeans... I got the size 32 and they fit me well. Measure 17" aligned from the back. I'm 5'8" 155lbs. A little extra room in the waist but that's pretty welcome nowadays. As Elisix said, some extra room in the thigh too, but not a showstopper. Hard taper down to a 7" hem. wife said they look best sagged just a tiny bit. I'll probably cuff vs hem. Fabric is somewhat rigid, but not quite as much as I was expecting. If properly worn in I could...
I went to NYC recently and took the time to go to the Alden store to get properly sized. I'm a 9 on the brannock, but in the alden barrie last am between an 8 and 8.5, so went with the 8 for a snugger fit. Got these plain toe bluchers in brown cxl... Always wanted one of these brooks brother cordovan wallets. Had a gift card and took advantage of a big sale they had on xmas day and got this. probably the nicest leather good i've ever owned.
I appreciate the thoughtful comments, all. Been a crappy experience but I've learned some lessons, met many great people, and have gained some new perspective. Not to suggest I didn't before, but it has provided me such an increased amount of empathy and compassion for those who have been injured or suffer from handicaps. I am just fortunate to have such a great level of help and support from my wife and family.... it makes me feel so bad for those who aren't as lucky, and...
A few different reasons I guess. I broke my hip earlier in the year (cracked femur) and I've spent most of the last six months on crutches or cane. I just had a second surgery before Christmas so more of the same to come. As a result of such little activity and somewhat poor diet I gained about 15 pounds too which has caused a lot of my clothes to fit poorly. I just haven't felt inspired like I used to (physically or mentally) to do any fit pics. Plus many days I haven't...
Care to elaborate on the blazer? I found it to be pretty much 'as advertised', this given I've owned several other wh blazers in the past. Though...the fabric is a bit delicate, light, and 'hairy', so may lack durability season after season.I've been pretty happy with the items I've received so far from fw'13, except the 'cashwool' light grey sweater which was beautiful out of the box but pilled really bad and lost its appeal pretty quickly. Maybe a dry cleaning will help
Very cool, thank you for sharing.
For sale is a SNS Herning Stark Cardigan, Black Melange (this is a charcoal color), Size Small. This is the old fit, so more true to size (in my opinion would fit a broad ranges of sizes, between a 34" and 37"/38" chest). This is the longer fit as well. If you're not familiar with the old fit vs the new I would suggest researching the SNS thread. Only worn a few times and folded in a drawer for a while - excellent condition. No pulls, tears, stains, odors, etc. PayPal...
I have a brown lamb A-2 in about ~37. This was sized for me at 5'8" 145 lbs and it's a pretty good fit. I am looking for something a little roomier though - because i've gained a few pounds plus I want to be able to layer stuff underneath it. Maybe looking for something made for someone 5'8" - 5"10" and 165-170 lbs or so. These are measurements (I will double check these against actuals): shoulders 16.8" chest (pit-to-pit) 20.7" midsection 19.1" waist 17.7" body length,...
I mentioned in my post "no washes" but yes, should clarify these are the 'once-washed' model (slim fit - 29x32). Also I have not worn these daily, more about 2-3 times a week. In PM someone had commented that they really haven't faded very much over the course of 1.5 years, and I'd agree - they're still pretty saturated in Indigo. I'm not really sure what my plan is for them in terms of when to wash, no immediate plans to do so, though.
My RRL's... ~1.5 years, no washes
