Quote: Dunhill is just another luxury brand with no soul. No personality. i agree partly- the patterns are too boring and if it must be a brand id recommend daks: for clothes its better, the pipes and cigs are better at dunhills i must confess though.. when you already buy a dunhill shirt why not buy from levy or pink of london (jermyn str) they sell their products by mail too-heck for that price you can get your shirts custom made anyway...oh yeah...
never- i also went for "no"- forget it, no earrings for the gentleman...well but if youre still not convinced and should get some you could still say that the chinese nobles (of course before the fall of the mandschu-dynasty) also wore them... btw-DandySF: ah- eau de cologne doesnt "enhance" the man?-what are you using? eau de parfum?(eau de toilette?) eg aqua di parma is only available as eau de cologne (so is trumpers extract of limes- and many english products from eg...
Quote: Tell me, havce you seen the clothing of Purdey, and Beretta? Yes they are not the most chic or elegant per se but still they are high quality. nope havent seen either- im not a good shot and no gun buff myself but "was told" that purdey, the old london adversary of h&h to be"much better than h&h"for the two barreled ones-i have no idea- guess its (as evrything fundamental)- just a question of taste
no worries, i also buy brand name clothes- but still- one can have his ideals(agreed- huntsmans spiffy sporty-tight look is good)-ideals for which one strives(and regularly neglects and alters   -by jove, the emoticons are ugly here..) yrs ago i bought a cashmere scarf by daks-it was good but after some time i couldnt wear it any more, too many ppl already had the same one, they change the design frequently but after some months its semper idem-though i must say it...
monsieur le comte deMontesquiou: i think the brand you mention is of good overall quality but im afraid to say that it is also slightly over-priced. before buying daks SUITS id rather go to saville row- the difference is neglectible...(other accesories can be obtained as a fancy though)- the pattern is recognisable which is not good and the style of the cut is classic but too voluminous...
hm009:i exactly know what you mean: i also have the same prob: i like the cut-the sporty elegance of RL but i dont want to run around as an ad banner:with lacoste you can take the crocodile off-but here its sewn on-i over-painted the bright-red mark on my burberry polo shirt and it came out bordeaux so quite ok-unfortunately w RL it didnt work it just turned out black...(though i have a tattersall check shirt by RL(.)that doesnt have the polo player on it(top priced though)
