What sort of frames would compliment my face well? I've been doing some research, but haven't found many solid matchings between facial type and frame style.

To me, your beard doesn't look thick enough to keep close cropped. Just go ahead and shave it off.

I keep a short beard. The maintenance is probably a bit more than just shaving the whole thing off, but I like how it looks. My girlfriend won't let me shave, so a vote for scruff.

Can you post a picture with your hair pulled back? Hard to give any good suggestions without seeing your jaw and ears clearly.
