I think what Sanguis meant was that the is turned inward at the pleat up at the yoke, so the pattern really spreads from the yoke down. I do understand the original reason for the pleat, but I have plenty of shirts with a 'clean' back...

If price is what has "charmed" you, take a look at sterlingwear.com. A peacoat from them will be a hundred bucks cheaper, of similar quality, and their large array of sizes should give you a better fit.

The shape of the shoe trees should tell you which goes in which shoe. The tapered end should face outward and the flat side should be on the bottom.
