hermes sample sale going on now here in NYC. just picked up a critter tie -- light blue with sleeping cats / moons. the back of the tie has dancing mice.
i only have 3 bowties and don't really wear them that often, but i do like wearing them. for me at least, it depends on what suit/blazer i'm wearing. with my light blue seersucker, i'm more inclined to wear a bowtie. the same applies with a double-breasted suit where you dont get to see as much of a normal tie. and sometimes when i go out here in NYC, some nice jeans, a dark blazer, and a bowtie can make you stand out, if that's your goal. with respect to different...
i have a navy with aqua pin stripes. i think it's alright, although since it's a 3 button suit, coupled with the aqua stripes, it comes off as quite the power suit. i'm not quite as fond of the suit these days. my dad gave me one of his old bespoke suits from the 70s. it's probably one of my favorite suits (i would say it's very tom ford-esque - wide lapels and high armholes). 3 piece blue suit (not quite navy) with burgundy stripes. needless to say, my girlfriend...
just got around to watching King's Speech and loved the suits that both Firth and Rush wore. Firth typically wore a lot of formal-wear, including a nice white smoking jacket with white bow-tie. was a big fan lol although my GF rolled her eyes when i asked her if she also liked the outfit lol. and rush wore a lot wore a lot of textured suits - tweed, etc. great stuff from the mid-30s.
don't have any pics, but there was a pretty nice sale at Century 21 over the thanksgiving weekend. 25% off coupon on any one item you purchase. the rush in getting the deal was quite exciting since we only found out about the coupon when we got there and the store was closing, as was the deal. so we went on a mad search for some coupons. thankfully, a shopper had printed a ton of them and i asked and he gave me 2. my dad got a corneliani suit for about 600 and i got a...

i've been pretty successful at just getting suits at thrift stores -- obviously it helps if you have a common body type -- a 42 can fit me just about perfectly off the rack so that might work for you if you're in a similar situation. while im originally from the bay area, i only started looking at thrift stores upon moving to NYC for law school so i don't have any recs for you. really the only area that i splurge are ties, but i think my collection of over 30 may be...
as for brasil, when they met president lula, they were wearing their nike gear. http://www.abn.com.br/fotosabn/robin...ula-marisa.jpg brasil has been travelling with specially designed black/gold nike stuff -- which was influenced by military garb. http://globoesporte.globo.com/futebo...ca-do-sul.html really the only fashion you'll see from the brazilian team comes from dunga -- he is his daughter's guinea pig -- she's in fashion school and some of the outfits that...
