That sucks and repairing a 100 buck lens isn't worth it since the repair cost would most likely be more than that. I guess the good news is it wasn't a 2K Zeiss lens. I wouldn't use the lens since it does have issues. The last thing you want to do is have the problems with the lens cascade and screw up the body.
Try another lens on it before writing it off. It could be the lens or the body that's having issues. Lenses and bodies can be repaired. What you'll have to decide is the repair cost worth it or do you just buy a new lens or body.
Deal Time Wolverine 1000 Mile boots. I'll be looking at inventory numbers and adding/expanding sizes and models to this deal later today. The code is the word SUNNY20 It should be pretty easy to figure out how much off... If you don't see the size or model on the site call the store for availability. The deal will work on call in orders too when you mention the code. This deal will run for 72 hours. http://cranesboots.com/store/products/

No way. For that you use a jackhammer and a sledge. A screw up with the jackhammer would be a big hole through the top of the boot all the way through. with a sledge you would have the ultimate in the crushed flat toe box thing going on.
LOL! Soon to be out with a couple of new cameras and pair of boots. I was rooting around youtube and came across this video that was shot by a chaser doing his best not to get killed. This thing is the famous El Reno OK tornado. This tornado ended being 2.6 miles wide and was rated an EF5 with wind speeds nearing 300 mph. This is what it's like being in a car with a crazy bastard like me when I'm on the hunt. So if you ask to go chasing with me this is what you're getting...
I have no problem believing that those custom trenches that George is building for me will hold up just fine and could run with anything out there including my custom fitted mountaineering boots from Limmer. I'm one of those that believes at a certain point the differences in build quality become hard to quantify in any meaningful manner over a certain point in time. Will a pair of much more expensive Viberg boots outlast my 1Ks? Perhaps but then again I could also rip the...
Longevity is a weird thing. Owning something for 15 years and using it very little is not the same as owning it the same amount of time and using it often. A good example is my brown 1K boots. I have owned them for 5 years and have worn them over a thousand days and in conditions that are just insane. The real indicator of a product's build and overall quality is how many times can you use it and not how long you own it. Longevity also hinges around how well you maintain...
Crepuscular rays. Love 'em. Trini, that looks like a helluva tripod. I'm trying to find something similar but I need something with a self leveling center column for fast setups on lousy terrain.
When I make plans for an extended chase I'll setup on the OK/KS panhandle area and wait for those kinds of storms. That entire area is the heart of tornado alley. The nastiest weather I have ever seen has been out that way and it seems to be a rather common thing.
