I have a question for the fellow lawyers here. I'm a young associate in biglaw and am considering a move to another state and a smaller firm. Does anyone have a sense for the typical practice regarding bar passage for lateral hires? Do large regional firms (that I assume hire from biglaw fairly frequently) hire associates who haven't passed the bar in that particular state yet? Or should I start taking steps toward bar admission before applying? It looks like a...
Sold.
For sale, I have a used Filson 257 in Tan. The bag is just starting to break in, but you'll notice a bit of blue denim staining in the photos. I've owned this for a couple of years and used it infrequently. No rips, tears, etc. Looking for $150 shipped conus.
Now an Ebay Action, available here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130562458840#ht_500wt_1413 Thanks.

Awesome; thanks for the replies. A related question: I'm starting at a NYC firm later this year, and they wear suits daily. What percentage of the lawyers, do you guess, will wear black shoes on a daily basis? edit: Let me also say that I know the shoe/attire-for-biglaw-firm question gets asked regularly. But I'm interested in what people are actually wearing rather than what's appropriate.
I work in as conservative a place as likely possible (federal court). I have a pair of black PAs and some walnut Strands, the latter I wear when not actually in court. I wear my PAs often enough that I could use another pair of black shoes but don't really want another pair of PAs. I'm mostly interested in a pair of Fifth Aves or Strands, and my question is how formal/appropriate is a black brogued shoe like the Strand? Note that I'm just a law clerk (also...
