When I think boots...and when I think Vans...I think stomping through dirt / mud / rain on the way to a ska/punk concert in Santa Cruz. Therefore, as a west coast born-and-raised Vans wearer since the 80s, I must dissuade you from buying these suede chukkas The canvas chukks really do wear nicely...I like to think that they get "whiskers" like raw denim. Or perhaps I'm out of my mind. Really though...I can't say those suckas dont look tasty, just a little too fragile...

If you are truly looking for a ridiculously durable backpack (function will always be better than form...) I CANNOT reccomend http://www.tombihn.com/ highly enough. I have put my black brain bag through HELL and there isn't one damaged seam or broken / warped zipper. And I usually run through 2 Jansports a year
